Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Irritable bowel syndrome is a common gastrointestinal disorder with symptoms including abdominal pain, bloating, wind, urgency to open your bowels, a feeling of incomplete defecation, constipation, diarrhea or a variable bowel habit.

IBS most commonly occurs in people between 20 and 60 years of age and is more common in women than men. Symptoms are often worse with stress and may be worse at different times of the menstrual cycle in women.

There are a number of lifestyle and dietary factors which can aggravate symptoms of IBS and eating a healthy diet can help many people to improve their symptoms.
