From Pain to Performance

Canterbury One to One Pilates

Trained therapists Judy Campbell, Andrew Buckley and Matthew Stanford.

Used as a tool for rehabilitation purposes, a one to one session with Judy will introduce you to the foundations of modified pilates exercise. Research has shown the importance of strong "core muscles" to support the spine and movement and to aid sufferers of low back pain.

The core muscles are the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles but these can often be quite weak as other body muscles take over. The purpose of a one to one session is to teach you how to identify and effectively recruit these muscles through a series of exercises. When these muscles are strong you will develop stability throughout your entire torso. Our exercises will encompass other global muscles and breathing techniques and are designed to aid those with low back, shoulder and neck pain.

These sessions are also an ideal way of preparing you for ongoing pilates sessions at your local gym/venue.
