Jamie Staff MBE, Olympic Gold Champion 2008 Team GB

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew Buckley for being a fantastic Osteopath and Physical Therapist. Andrew has worked with me and my family for a number of years and helped me through some difficult injuries. Andrew pays close attention to detail when treating his clients and has the clients interest at heart.

Andrew is sincere and funny and will basically make you feel a whole lot better!

Liam Holmes: Fulham Football Club first team sports therapist

Having worked with Andy at both his clinic and at Fulham Football Club I have learnt a great deal from Andy, he allowed me to observe him work when I was still learning at university and the knowledge he imparted was invaluable. He has been a mentor to me and I cannot thank him enough for the continued support I receive. I have recommended a number of people to Team Buckley and every one of them has a glowing reference of Andy and his team.

Andy's professional approach to assessment and treatment of injures allows him to work effectively with elite athletes to the general public. The diversity of his experience, his knowledge and personal skills are second to none and I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Mark Patterson (Former first team player Gillingham Football Club)

Having worked together during my playing days at Gillingham Football Club, Andrew has helped me recover from many injuries including rehabilitation after my knee surgery. I regularly refer players and friends to him.

Steven Tiley
Professional golfer

Being a professional golfer on the European tour and Challenge tours I have had lots of treatments from many top physios around the world. For me the physios at Team Buckley are right up there with them. I would recommend anyone in the South East of England to make the trip to Canterbury to get required treatment at Team Buckley you won't have any regrets.

Harriett Yea, Professional/GB Basketball Player

Playing basketball professionally and playing for Great Britain, you need a great Osteopath and Physiotherapist. Team Buckley has helped me with many injuries whether big or just twinges in my body.

Going to Team Buckley they understand the importance of high performance sport and how important it is to be back playing injury free. I have been going to Team Buckley for a number of years. Whether I have had an injury or just need a good loosening up or good Sports massage. All the team there are fantastic and have all helped me ready for my performance. They are all really friendly and easy to talk to. They know exactly what they are doing, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Brian Sparks, Founder & Head Coach at Positive Impact Golf;
Author of the book 'Positive Impact Golf'; PGA Professional & Qualified Performance Coach

I first met Andy Buckley at the beginning of 2010 after receiving a recommendation from one of my clients. Since then I have seen him regularly and have also been treated by two other members of his team. Their combined efforts have given me the feeling of getting younger, not older, at the age of 60!

I have found much similarity between their approach to health and the Positive Impact Golf approach to helping golfers play better golf. As golf coaches, we seek to encourage self-coaching whereby golfers learn to become more aware of their swings and of the issues that help or hinder their games. Andy has certainly helped me to become more aware of my back issues and he has given me the tools to help me control my own destiny.

Although we work in two very different domains there are, again, similarities whereby both golfers and back sufferers traditionally expect to simply pay and be cured. I know by personal experience that Andy is always keen to teach me how to maintain the health of my back and to prevent unnecessary injuries in the future. The result is that I now don't need to see him so often.

I can wholeheartedly recommend him and his team to anyone who is keen to enjoy better health and increased quality of life.

Holly Jackson,

"Team Buckley have played a huge part in enabling me to continue to ride and compete over the last 5 years, despite several injuries and a long term back problem.

Andy and Judy understand that my sport is not just a hobby, it's a lifestyle. They work with me to make sure that I'm in shape to look after my horses every day of the year, not just during competition season. Their supportive approach and the consistently high standard of treatment mean that I can continue to do what I love. So thank you Team Buckley!"

Jon and Jo Gore, parents of Keziah and Jael Gore, Canterbury Rhythmic Gymnasts

Over the last four years Andy has been part and parcel of Keziah's and Jael's success in their respective gymnastics careers. He counts it a privilege to serve them in a professional, yet warm and accessible manner. It has been fantastic for the girls to know that in Andy they have an enthusiastic and dedicated supporter, especially when he pulled out all the stops to successfully help Kezi work through a back injury which threatened to prevent her from competing at the 2011 World Championships and for the chance to represent GB at the London 2012 Olympics Test event in January at the North Greenwich Arena.

Sam Spare, England Basketball National Development Manager

Andy provided excellent support to the players who took part in our Final Fours tournament. His professionalism, particularly his preparation, knowledge and approachability, really helped make the event a success.

Isla Scott – Physiotherapist

I first met Andy when we started our MSc in Physiotherapy together in 2007. I have always been impressed by his skill set having combined the disciplines of Osteopathy and Physiotherapy with a background in personal training. Andy is addicted to excellence and detail and this was the reason that I requested that he help me run the Polyclinic at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games in the Isle of Man where I was the Lead Physiotherapist. Andy did a double shift for the duration of the Games, showing enthusiasm and a fantastic attitude but, above all, demonstrating outstanding clinical skills in all of his treatments and rehabilitation sessions. We were lucky enough to have regular, impromptu sessions, delivered by Andy whenever the clinic was quiet, teaching manipulations.

Andy is a natural teacher and his depth of knowledge was evident in every clinical and teaching situation. I have worked at seven major games, including the Olympics, and would have Andy working alongside me at every future games in an ideal world, not only for his enviable skill set but also his exceptional attitude.

Leon McCarron, www.leonmccarron.com

In preparation for my upcoming 3000 mile trek and TV expedition from Mongolia to Hong Kong, I used the services of Andy Buckley and his team at Team Buckley to help me keep injury free and be in the best shape possible. I originally had a slight knee problem, which Andy quickly diagnosed and worked out a program to combat. He also designed a program for me to improve core strength and mobility, and saw me regularly to check on my progress and loosen up key muscles.

Overall Andy and his team have left me feeling fit, strong and injury free, and I'm convinced I would be nowhere near as ready for this challenge without his expertise.

Everyone at Team Buckley was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and friendly, and I would absolutely recommend their services to anyone in need of treatment or preparing for a sporting event.

They are without a doubt the best of the best!

Becky Kingsnorth

My mum first recommended me to Andy for rehab after I broke my ankle nine years ago. I trampoline four times a week (up to 12 hours a week) and compete nationally all over the country. Over the years I have gained many niggling problems and a few more serious inju-ries, mainly my back, ankles and knee. Most recently Andy has helped me recover from ankle surgery which was necessary following an injury; this has included treatment, rehabilitation exercises and advice. Andy understands how important it is to me to get back to training and competitions as quickly as possible. I 100% trust all the advice he gives me and when appro-priate he gives me exercises to carry out between visits in order to get back to full fitness as quickly as possible. Andy has always been able to arrange a convenient appointment for me, sometimes at short notice. I would definitely recommend my fellow gymnasts, friends and family to Andy!

Katrina McDonald (Bath University)

Andrew Buckley worked with the Team Bath Judo Programme at the 2009 British University Championships in Sheffield. He and a colleague, Matthew Standford, aided the team over the two day tournament with physiotherapy and osteopathy support. They assisted with strapping, massage and general assessment of the players, especially those who were fighting over the two days.Their professionalism and generosity of their time assisted the team to win the Men's team,Women's team, Regional Men's and Women's championship but also taking nearly all of the Individual Men's and Women's categories.

This was one of the most successful years for the University of Bath's Judo team and we thank them for their time and efforts. We are extremely grateful for the time that they gave up and to the assistance that they gave to the team.

Professor David Ferry, University of Wales Cardiff

'Early January 2008, a real mid-life incident'

Following a mountain bike accident in January 2008 I was left with a couple of spiral fractures to my right femur, a fractured clavicle and some heavy bruising and nerve damage to my lower spine.

Many weeks later I left hospital with a full femur length of titanium implant, and steel pins, (the shattered femur had to be surgically removed). The physiotherapy treatment I had been given in the hospital just about got me trundling on a Zimmer frame. I was too frightened to use crutches, as I had fallen over when I first used them.

A wheel chair was ordered (till I got better with the crutches) and I was able to get out of the house. One day I went to the local cycling shop to help out at a local event. The proprietors were so shocked to see me in this condition that they gave me the number of Team Buckley and insisted I contact them.

This was now May 2008, and from this time onwards I attended regular sessions at the Team Buckley clinic in Canterbury. I think it was true to say that I was at low ebb, and in a sorry physical state, the first time I presented myself.

Team Buckley implicitly understood that as a 'former' active amateur-racing cyclist that I was not ready for the scrap heap. This basic principal guided our sessions for the next months. I was given an implicit understanding that this was a 'team' effort and I needed to focus, it was a two way street. Sometimes all you need is solid professional support and this in turn gives you a responsibility to yourself.

By summer 2009 I was competing again and really getting back to full health.

Andy and his team at Canterbury gave me complete respect without indulgence or unnecessary sympathy. This in turn allowed me to regain the confidence I needed to go forward.

The cycle shop in question is 'Downlands Cycling' in Canterbury, Kent.

I continue to ride for VC Elan/Harry Perry Cycles, London.

Sarah Turner, A level Student

I am student who is passionate about dance and I'm aspiring to become a dance teacher. I dance several days a week. I was devastated when I partly dislocated my shoulder meaning I couldn't dance without it coming out of place. I got advised to see Team Buckley by a friend, who had seen them before with a different problem and was extremely satisfied with the outcome.

With help from Andrew and his team, I got given some exercises to strengthen my shoulder. I make sure I do them every day and I haven't had a problem with my shoulder since. I was extremely impressed with the amount knowledge Andrew has. He took my needs and interests into account and paid close attention to my progress. I won't hesitate to recommend anyone to Team Buckley!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to you all for in getting me back to playing football after my cruciate ligament injury. 12 months ago I wasn't sure if I would ever play again

The advice, support and physiotherapy have been excellent. Furthermore the training sessions on Tuesdays really helped me overcome the psychological barriers to returning (which were greater than I ever imagined)- Looking back I think they were invaluable

Dr Louise Mansfield, Senior Lecturer in the Sociology of Sport

I injured my lower back doing a circuit training session and walked into Team Buckley one morning in tremendous pain and with limited movement. I did not have an appointment but Andrew moved his busy schedule to see me straight away. He was precise with his diagnosis and professional and effective with his treatment and within four sessions, over less than two weeks, I recovered perfectly. He is an enthusiastic, committed, knowledgeable and experienced professional who understands both the mechanics of injury and the emotions surrounding the injury process. I would highly recommend him to anyone but he has a particular specialism in dealing with injuries sustained in sporting activities.
